Weekly Review: Moved School Elections and a Bit of Snow

Following Gov. Chris Christie signature to legislation on Jan. 17 allowing school boards statewide to change elections and eliminate budget referendums, both the River Dell and Oradell Boards of Education agreed to move the school election. River Edge could make their decision on Feb. 1.

Bergen County got its first real winter snow storm last weekend with a whopping six inches. And even if the weather was not very car friendly, residents stopped by the Regional High School for a pancake breakfast to support the Class of 2012.

Sgt. Curt Wilhelm and Officer Marc Abate presented their proposal, for an Emergency Services Memorial, designed by local business Let It Grow, which would include a  steel I-beam from the World Trade Center.

On Tuesday night, the Mayor and Council moved forward will backfilling two open patrol positions by offering conditional employment to Kyle Costa and Brennan Page. Both men could be sworn in at the February meeting.
