United Water Repairs Oradell Water Main Break

United Water began to make repairs the day after Patch reported the story.

A water main reported by borough officials to have burst on Church Street Tuesday, April 16 has been repaired.

Patch reported on April 24 that despite calls to United Water from borough officials and residents, repairs had not been made.

The day after Patch reported the story, Steve Goudsmith, director of communications for United Water, commented,

Please be advised that this incident is not a main break. It is a service leak. A water main serves customers in the area, while a service line extends from the main to individual properties. While we are fully aware of the incident, we must prioritize the repair to infrastructure appropriately. Emergency repairs and water mains are typically higher priorities than service line work. Repairs to this line are scheduled to be made tomorrow with some preliminary work being completed today. We apologize for any inconvenience.

That day, workers for United Water appeared on the scene and began the process of making repairs.
