Sweep Your Foodie Sweetheart Off Their Feet

Take that special someone out on the town for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and if you are still struggling on where to take your sweetheart out to dinner, why not stay local in River Dell this year. From Japanese to Greek, Italian to Turkish - there is a variety of restaurants to enjoy a romantic dinner at.

Greek/Mediterranean

Babylon, on Kinderkamack Road in River Edge, offers up the finest delights in Mediterranean and also has the best options for the vegetarian or vegan couple. With their informative waitstaff, they will guide your taste buds on a journey from appetizers to dessert.

Also in River Edge, is A Taste of Greece, where foodies can enjoy authentic Greek-style pork gyros, moussaka and fresh seafood or the vegetarian options of spanakopitakia and tzatziki to a vegetable pita and hot rice dolmades

Asian

Sushi lovers can chose from Misaki in Oradell or Fuki Sushi in River Edge. With classics such as a spicy tuna roll or California roll, miso soup and teriyaki, either restaurant will satisfy your cravings. End the night over a dish of fried banana and ice cream.

If you prefer you're dinner a little more cooked, Green Papaya in River Edge has several Asian fusion options from Chinese to Malaysian to Thai and Vietnamese. The menu includes spring rolls, curry, noodles, tofu, shrimp, beef and chicken.

Italian

Felice, Sanducci's and Dinallo's are the top three Italian restaurants in the area if you're looking for something other than a pie of pizza.

Chef Marcos Calle of Felice in Oradell serves up unusual appetizers like lentils with beets and goat cheese dressed in balsamic vinaigrette, alongside staples like fried calamari and eggplant rollatini.

Sanducci's owners Anthony and Lisa DiMiglio location while sticking to the classics of seafood chowder, baked parmigiana and tilapia.

Located at the farthest end of River Edge is Dinallo's where owner Robert Dinallo brings the freshest ingredients to the table: mushrooms, broccoli, clams and more.

Turkish

OK, so Turkish dining is a bit of a novelty in the two boroughs with Efes the only place in town - but if you and your sweetheart are looking to try something new, then Efes is the best bet to expand your palate.

Chicken, lamb and fish are the main proteins but eggplant and humus are excellet substitutes. Especially if you want to leave room for their rice pudding, Turkish custard or baklava for dessert.

Patrons for the majority of the recommended restaurants are encouraged to make reservations prior to Valentine's Day.
