Rides, a Rock Concert and Patch at Oradell Family Day

The annual event, celebrating all things Oradell will be held Sunday at Memorial Park

The annual Oradell Family Day event is scheduled to kick off the day-long celebration at Memorial Field located on Prospect Avenue, Sunday 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Organized by the Oradell Special Events Committee, Family Day will feature local food vendors to tickle your taste buds while Boy Scout Troop 36 will have hot dogs on hand. Local organizations will have fundraising and fun-raising events planned and make sure to swing by the Patch tent and chat with editor Eamon Harbord and ad manager Rebecca Fiorino.

For the little ones, bounce rides will be set up, play all day for $12. This year will again feature a trackless train for everyone from toddlers with their parents to our seniors and the Mickey Mouse Toddler Zone! The adventurous will not be forgotten, the Municipal Drug Alliance along with the Committee will DARE you to the extreme with mechanical Dixie Swings and Turbo Tubs, an obstacle course and Polar Extreme.

Stick around to 3pm and enjoy Rocktoberfest with “I Am Fighting”, a four-man pop/rock band, based out of Kearny and Belleville which has played at larger venues such as Webster Hall, the Prudential Center, Mexicali Live, The School Of Rock, The Stone Pony and Bamboozle 2011. The group, which was on hiatus for most of August, recently released their new EP "Not Afraid" and is comprised of Joseph Gehrmann (Vocals), Joe Hughes (Drums), Dominick Gaglio (Lead Guitar), and Dan Tretola (Rhythm Guitar).

Due to the nature of the event, scheduled entertainment is subject to change. All proceeds raised by the Special Events Committee will go towards future patriotic celebrations and our fireworks displays.

Incase of rain, the event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 30.
