With a June deadline to welcome 25 senior citizens through the doors, Build with Purpose and several local volunteers spent their Saturday afternoon prepping the formerSt. Peter the Apostle convent for its upcoming conversion into a Senior Residence facility.

Volunteers were split between painting the walls or helping remove carpets throughout the buildin at 415 Fifth Avenue. A similar project was held in late 2012 and drew 40 volunteers into the former convent.

The Senior Residence meant to house 25 senior citizens in their own one-bedroom unit with private bathroom and have shared community space, dining room and living room. The facility was intentionally scheduled to open in April but was pushed back to June.
