Oradell's Habitat Project Receives $1,900 Donation from Coldwell Banker
The Alpine/Closter Coldwell Banker office cleaned out its closet with an annual garage sale to support Habitat Bergen’s Oradell Build
The Alpine/Closter Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office hosted its annual garage sale in late September and subsequently raised $1,900 to benefit the Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County building project in Oradell. The real estate team recently presented a check to Habitat Bergen, accepted by Executive Director Jacey Raimondo, who expressed Habitat Bergen’s deepest thanks and appreciation.
This is the third consecutive year that Terri Buffa, Branch Vice President of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Alpine/Closter and her entire team hosted the garage sale to benefit Habitat Bergen.
“We are pleased and inspired to see the growing support for Habitat Bergen, as we continue to increase the money raised each year,” said Buffa.
Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County’s Oradell project will provide affordable housing for four low-income families. Construction began in late August 2012 and is expected to continue through 2013 following several weather delays.
“We greatly appreciate Terri and her team’s dedication and hard work managing this garage sale each year and we value our relationship with the Alpine/Closter Coldwell Banker office,” said Jacey Raimondo, Habitat Bergen Executive Director. “Their continued support helps us fight the ongoing battle ensuring that 6.6 percent of Bergen County’s population below the poverty line has affordable housing.”
The project, which was approved by the Planning Board in June 2011 calls for four 3-bedroom duplexes along Westervelt Place and Lake Avenue. The project will include two, 1,800 sq. ft. single-family dwellings separated by a dividing wall. Neither home will be built with a basement but each of the four families will have three bedrooms, two bathrooms and use of a two-car garage. The homes, designed so they will fit in with the surrounding neighborhood, will also be LEED certified. All appliances will be energy efficient and all water fixtures will be low flow.
