Fun For All Ages at Memorial Park

Annual River Edge Day runs from 1 to 4pm

 

Looking to get out of the house on Sunday and do something fun with the family? Then head over to Veteran’s Memorial Park on Sunday, from 1 to 4pm to celebrate River Edge and participate in the River Edge Day activities.

"River Edge Day is an afternoon of fun and entertainment in our beautiful park and an opportunity for the promotion of our community businesses and organizations. This year vendors have been invited to participate as well.  We invite our residents, friends and neighbors to meet at Veteran's Memorial Park on Sunday October 16 for the celebration of our community," Recreation Director Bobbi Conway said.

Refreshments, free raffles prizes of gift certificates, baskets of goodies and services from our local businesses and organizations, free family activities and games, vendors, clowns, free giveaways, displays and demonstrations will be set up throughout the park.

Among the vendors this year will be Pickle Licious. Additional vendors will have jewelry vendors, tupperwear, hair feather addtions, kids stuff and placemats, table runners and quilts, embellished towels, kids items and more. Also, Pink Heals Inc. - a breast cancer awareness group will be featured on Continenatl Avenue with their pink firetruck.

Old fashioned games of tug-a-war, hula hoop, relay gunny sack races and more will begin at 1:15 pm for all ages and will continue throughout the event. Free raffle prize winners will be announced at 3:30pm.

Community volunteer organizations, our community businesses and municipal departments, commissions and committees will be on hand with valuable information, free giveaways, raffles prizes. 

Among the local organizations that will have tables during the day are Cub Scout Pack 229, Boy Scout Troop 184, the Woman's Club of River Edge, River Dell Education Assocation, River Edge Alliance Against Drugs, Girl Scout Troop 160, River Edge Republicans, a Daisy Troop, REVAS, River Dell PTO, REGAL, River Edge Democrats, the Beautification Committee and Recreation Commission and the Junior Woman's Club of River Edge.
