'Beloved' Librarian is Leaving River Edge

Grunwerg will become director at Blauvelt Library in New York

The Children's section at the will be a lot quieter now as Laura Grunwerg, the Director of Youth and Young Adult Services packed up her guitar and desk this past week. The Hillsdale resident will now become the Director of the Blauvelt Library in New York.

For the past decade, Grunwerg has expanded the Summer Reading Club program and various story time programs that include music, stories, crafts, puppets and play time with toys for children ranging in age from a few months old to 8 years old.

During her time with the River Edge library, Grunwerg has become a "beloved" figure in the building - so much so that last year residents and fellow colleagues nominated her  for the "I Love My Librarian Award" through the Carnegie Foundation. Grunwerg was one of 10 recipients.
