Storms Don't Dampen River Edge Scout Picnic

Despite severe rainstorms, this year's River Edge Boy Scout Troop 184 annual picnic set a new attendance record.  Held on Saturday, September 8th the event was originally scheduled to be held as usual in Memorial Park.  However, the sudden turn in the weather that day forced the venue to be changed in the last minute to St. Peter's Church gymnasium.

Under a tarp rigged by the senior scouts, the grilling of hotdogs, hamburgers, and sausages went on outdoors, while 100 scouts, prospective new scouts, scout leaders, families, friends and other guests dined inside.  Other activities included the awarding of over 100 merit badges earned by the Troop 184 scouts at summer camp and a variety of fun competitive games held both in the gym and in the church yard during breaks in the rain.
