William "Bill" F. Landmann Jr., 86, died Tuesday, June 26th in Hingham, Mass.
Bill was born and raised in Oradell. He was a member of BSA Troop 36 and graduated from Dwight Morrow HS.
During WWII, he served in the Pacific Theater, first in the Philippines and later in occupied Japan. He saw first hand the effects of the Atomic Bomb. He was a proud member of VFW Post 2183.
After the war he joined Delta Tau Delta and graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer; working on jet engines, the Lunar Lander, and later automated mail-handling equipment, until he retired.
He and Jean were married in 1978. They moved from Oradell to Cape Cod in 1997 and to Hingham Mass., in 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Landmann (nee Evans, McCarthy) and his sister, Marguerite Cross.
Bill is also survived by his first wife Jacqueline (nee Massarene) and their three sons: David, James, and Russell. Bill is also survived by his two stepchildren: Len McCarthy and Ellen Hoadley (nee McCarthy) and five grand and step-grand children.
